STEM Summer Camp

In this session, kids get familiar with the 2D and 3D shapes. Mentor teaches children about how a cube is formed through 6 square faces while learning about the number of sides and edges/corners a cube has. This session also includes a DIY activity where kids will create their own 3D paper cubes using colourful sheets. In the end, a trick chart will help them and guide them in cracking the solution of their problem.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -

• 4 Origami sheets or Square shape sheets (4 Different colors)
• Marker or Sketch pen
• Basic Stationaries (Pencil, Eraser)

At the beginning of the session, the mentor will teach kids about Spirolaterals, which is a geometric design. Ma’am will start with telling the kids about how to convert 5 liner sheets into graph paper to make it easier for them to understand. Moving further, kids will make a few shapes and figures by following a certain number of series. This session will train kids to create their own brain game activity.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -

• 1 or 2 pages of Hindi notebook of 5 lines
• 1 or 2 pages of maths notebook of squares
• 4 different color sketch pens
• Crayons or pencil color or sketch pen
• Basic Stationaries (Pencil, Eraser, Scale, Sharpener)
• Ruler (big)
• Marker

The mentor will train kids to customize their very own brain game. Kids will be making a Trominoes which is a criss-cross game with some unique rules. This will be a fun brain teaser with a mathematical twist to it. Kids will learn and be logically sound at the same time while creating this game.

MATERIALS REQUIRED-

• One page of Maths Notebook with squares
• A4 size white sheet (1 or 2 Qty)
• 2 different color Sketch pens or Crayons
• Black sketch pen
• Basic Stationery (Pencil, Eraser, Scale)

NOTE: If you do not have a square sheet, you can draw the cubes on a white A4 sheet as well

A pulley is a wheel on an axle or shaft that is designed to support and transfer power between the shaft and cable or belt. The practical approach shown in this session will make kids understand the concept of pulley effectively.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -

• Shoebox (1 Qty)
• Thick cardboard of (8x13 cm)
• Medium Size cardboard box like Soap Box or Toothpaste Box
• Single Punching Hole machine
• Double side tape (1 Qty)
• Cello tape (1 Qty)
• Toothpick - (3 qty) or Skewers
• Thick Thread
• Scissors
• Fevicol
• Colorful paper - (2 Sheets A4 Size)
• Pencil and Black Marker
• Small size Bottle cap for making a circle
• Scale or Ruler
• Eraser
• 2 small lego men - or toy men (optional)

NOTE:

• Parental guidance is required while using sharp objects like Scissors and Hole Machine.
• If you do not have a punch hole machine, you can use the scissors as well

In this session, kids will get to explore and experience an interesting topic that is Animation. Ma’am will teach children all about animation? Furthermore, in the class, kids will learn to create their own animated flipbook miniature that they can play with and can create various themes around it.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -

• A4 size sheet (1 Qty) or Sticky Notepad (optional)
• Paper binding clip or Stapler
• Scissors (Child Friendly)
• Sketch pen (any 2 colors)
• Basic Stationaries (Pencil, Scale, Eraser)

NOTE: Parental guidance is required while using sharp objects like Scissors or Stapler

The world is full of surprises! The science behind the occurrence of various happenings around the world and in nature is absolutely astonishing. Ma'am will help kids become familiar with a few fun facts related to the earth. They will learn about the coral reefs which are the largest living structures on the earth. More questions related to the earth will be discussed in the class. A shadow tracing art activity will be conducted towards the end of the class which is going to be a new experience for our young learners.

MATERIALS REQUIRED -

• A4 Size White Sheet (3 Qty)
• Torch (is mandatory)
• Black or grey crayon
• Basic Stationery (Pencil, Eraser, scale)
• Toy cars, kitchen set toys, 3D animals, Blocks - 3 to 4 each or any toy for tracing art activity

NOTE: If you do not have a Torch, you can keep your object near a Source of Light

The final session of STEM Summer Camp will help kids indulge in some science experiments like an orange density experiment, floating potato density experiment, and more. The kids will understand the concept of floating, sinking, density, buoyancy, and molecules. The mentor will conduct a few experiments to help kids learn new concepts and boost their logical reasoning.
