Yellow Class brings to you ‘Become A Little Gardener’. In this program, YC’s mentor Raksha Agarwal will help kids learn the basics of gardening.

How to grow plants & factors affecting growth
Never gardened before? Worry not as YC’s mentor Raksha Agarwal is here to teach kids the basics of gardening. Kids will understand the process of growing a plant and this session will cover the aspects of blooming and harvesting. The mentor will also walk you through the factors that affect a plant’s growth
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Indoor & Outdoor Plants
In this session, the mentor will help kids understand the difference between an indoor plant and an outdoor plant. Kids will also get to learn the various categories of indoor and outdoor plants. They will get to understand how to take care of different types of plants as they need some basic things to grow well.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Well draining soil mix
How to maintain plants
Proper garden care increases the quality of your plants. In this session, the mentor will give some basic tips to kids so that they can maintain their plants without hampering their growth. They will also get to learn various unique requirements for the healthy growth of plants.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
NOTE: Adult supervision is required for the use of any sharp object like scissors
All About Fertilizers
Plants must have light, moisture, and nutrients to grow. Nutrients come from fertilizers and hence, kids need to understand basic facts about these fertilizers. The mentor will teach how to make fertilizers at home and give a detailed session about why they are important for a plant’s growth
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
NOTE- Adult supervision is required for the use of any sharp object like a knife
Grow Some Vegetables
Kids would love to learn how to grow vegetables at home and it’s better to give them early education. In this session, the mentor will guide them on how to grow a capsicum/bell pepper from a kitchen seed. They will get to learn how to collect and purchase seeds. In a nutshell, kids need to learn the basics of gardening.
